Cribs exhibition

The nativity scene exhibition „Krippenausstellung Oberau“ displays an impressive and fantastic journey back to the times of the birth of Jesus Christ and the most important stages of his life.

In every single nativity scene exhibited, the craftsman Ludwig Reiser has succeeded in bringing the story of Jesus Christ to life and letting visitors immerse into the events and newly experience the biblical theme by him having created an overall structure characterized by a harmony of shapes and colors and the use of manifold materials to produce lifelike details.

On an exhibition area of more than 100 square meters, the visitors can see nativity scenes from a variety of different cultures; alpine, South Italian and oriental nativity scenes convey to the visitors that the birth and life of Jesus Christ is bound neither to space and time nor to a certain cultural area and that the event is experienced on all continents.
