Tours for Families
Get in touch with nature
The ZugspitzLand offers all visitors, young and old alike, so many options to experience nature with all its fascination, not only during the day but even at night - and that with all senses!
In a playful manner and with a lot of fantasy, the 18 stops of the educational trail in Farchant will provide visitors with useful information about the ecosystem of the mountain forest. Here you can make a phone call with the tree telephone, play the forest xylophones, feel the forest and breathe in the clear air, and compete with the deer in a long-jump competition. To get in touch with nature means literally to understand nature. At the end of the interactive nature educational trail in Eschenlohe. (3.2 km), visitors will have learnt a lot more about our local mountain fauna and flora.
For a more tranquil approach, there is a quite varied family hiking tour from Eschenlohe along the Sieben Quellen springs to Oberau.
How about a journey through times?
The historical educational trail in Oberau brings you back to the times of messengers and waggoners. Along the ancient Kienbergstreet, once a legendary route for traders from Venice to Augsburg, the path ascends steeply towards Oberammergau.
At all seasons, the valleys and mountains in the ZugspitzLand are the perfect scenery for play and fun in this original and pristine nature. In the wintertime forestlanes and hiking trails easily become swift and sometimes tremendously fast toboggan runs where you can dust up powdery snow. At the foot of Mount Zugspitze the wild Partnach gorge turns into an icy and sparkling wonderworld. During walks at night, Bengal fireworks light up hundreds of icicles. Natural scientists or students of nature can make their way through the snow in the snow-covered winter forests. At the alpine hut in the forest adjacent to the Kramer plateau you can meet stags or deer in a paddock and behind fences.
By the way: The wide trails are often easily accessible and can even be reached with prams due to the flat plateau areas in the valleys.
One of the most beautiful trails is the Farchant educational trail through Föhrenheide.
